Sprague's hat trick boosts Achiever NE Academy over Windom Area, 4-1

The Windom Area Eagles could not stop the Achiever NE Academy Aces' Cory Sprague, who tallied a hat trick in a 4-1 win.

Sprague got on the scoresheet 13:23 into the first period. He then added goals at 4:46 into the third and at 6:20 into the third.

Achiever NE Academy additionally got points from Baron Thompson, who also tallied one goal and one assist. More assists for Achiever NE Academy came via Brennan McGuire and Ryan Finnegan, who each chipped in one.

Windom Area's offense operated below it season average. The Eagles put an average of 5.7 pucks into the net per game. Windom Area found itself short handed often, totaling 16 penalty minutes and allowing eight power plays.

The Eagles were led by Travis Janssen, who scored the team's only goal. Janssen scored 6:09 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Windom Area.

Parker Butler recorded 21 saves for Achiever NE Academy. The Aces incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Ben Stubbe made 25 saves for Windom Area on 29 shots. The Eagles registered zero goals on two power play opportunities.
