Lakeville North falls to Eden Prairie in overtime, 3-2 (OT)

The Eden Prairie Eagles pulled out a 3-2 (OT) overtime victory over the Lakeville North Panthers on a clutch goal by Andrew Knudsen.

Eden Prairie was paced by Knudsen, who registered one goal. Knudsen scored 2:15 into overtime to make the score 3-2 Eden Prairie. Riley Argetsinger provided the assist.

The Eagles' offense rang up 31 shots on Lakeville North's net.

Eden Prairie also got points from Luc Snuggerud, who also tallied one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Kyle Theilmann also scored for Eden Prairie. Other players who recorded assists for Eden Prairie were Colton Schmidt and Nic Bentz, who contributed one a piece.

The Panthers were often in penalty trouble, totaling six minors and one major for 17 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 12.0 minutes per game Lakeville North had been spending in the box. The Panthers put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Eden Prairie to score on any of its seven power plays.

Lakeville North was helped by Alex Wood, who tallied one goal. Wood scored on the power play 14:00 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Lakeville North. The Panthers earned a power play opportunity when Hunter Warner was put in the box for roughing. Tristan Hazlett assisted on the tally. Lakeville North also got a goal from Jack Diercks as well. In addition, Lakeville North received assists from Jack Poehling and Matt Ostdiek, who each chipped in one.

Jake Kielly recorded 15 saves for the Eagles. Eden Prairie incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Lakeville North's Will Dupont stopped 28 shots out of the 31 that he faced. The Panthers registered one goal on four power play opportunities.
