Tyler Kubara netted a hat trick to lead Sydney Maple Leafs over Sydney Lightning, 7-2.

Kubara notched his first tally 7:34 into the first period. He then added goals at 5:46 into the second and at 11:56 into the second.

Sydney Maple Leafs put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Sydney Lightning to score on any of its four power plays. Sydney Maple Leafs' offense was clicking better than usual and put 27 shots on goal during the game, better than the 2.2 shots per game it averages. Sydney Maple Leafs outdid its season average for goals scored. Sydney Maple Leafs averages 2.7 goals per game.

Sydney Maple Leafs also got points from Adrian Braun, who also had one goal and one assist and Scott Clemie, who also racked up three goals and two assists to lead the team in points.
