Litchfield/Dassel-Cokato beats River Lakes 6-4 as Haugo gets hat trickLitchfield Civic Arena Thu, Nov 29, 2012 Ben Haugo netted a hat trick to lead the Litchfield/Dassel-Cokato Dragons over the River Lakes Stars, 6-4. Haugo notched his first tally 10:33 into the first period. He then added goals at 8:35 into the second and at 5:55 into the third.Litchfield/Dassel-Cokato led by three goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when the Dragons' Brady Meyer's scored at 13:54 in the first period to put Litchfield/Dassel-Cokato up 4-1. The Dragons' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three River Lakes power plays. River Lakes was unable to stop Litchfield/Dassel-Cokato from sending pucks towards the net, and the Dragons eventually piled up 35 shots on goal. Litchfield/Dassel-Cokato bested its season scoring average. The Dragons average 3.8 goals per game. Litchfield/Dassel-Cokato's defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in three goals. Kent Ryynanen also scored for Litchfield/Dassel-Cokato. In addition, Litchfield/Dassel-Cokato received assists from Troy Ryynanen, who had three and Eddie Estrada, Chad Johnson, Ryan Tormanen, and Aaron Haataja, who contributed one a piece. The Stars struggled on the penalty kill, allowing the Dragons to score two power play goals on three chances. River Lakes was helped by Blake Karsh, who racked up one goal. Karsh scored 4:42 into the first period to make the score 1-0 River Lakes. Grant Thompson assisted on the tally. River Lakes additionally got points from Jake Herges, who also finished with one goal and one assist. River Lakes also got a goal from Austin Stone as well. Other players who recorded assists for River Lakes were Eric Zimmer and Daiton Johnson, who each chipped in one. Braeden Wahl made 24 saves for Litchfield/Dassel-Cokato on 28 shots. The Dragons incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Chris Skluzacek rejected 29 shots on goal for the Stars. River Lakes incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors.
