Lakeville South survives Roseville comeback, wins 3-2Schwan SR-1 Wed, Dec 26, 2012 The Lakeville South Cougars survived a determined comeback attempt by the Roseville Raiders on the way to a 3-2 win. Lakeville South made the score 3-1 on a goal by Patrick Lauderdale at 4:10 in the third period, and Roseville got as close as 3-2 when Alex Brauesen scored 8:56 into the third period. The Cougars were led by Lauderdale, who had one goal and one assist. Lakeville South's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Roseville power plays. With 38 shots on target during the contest, the Cougars exceeded the 1.1 shot they average per game this year. Lakeville South also got a goal from Justin Doeden as well. In addition, Lakeville South received assists from Nick Oelrich, Leo Steinmetz, Weston Baumann, and Drew Byers, who contributed one a piece. The Raiders kept Lakeville South's goalie busy throughout the game, and Tyler Schumacher made 34 saves on 36 shots. Roseville also got points from Ryan Larson, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. More assists for Roseville came via Riley McCann and Colton Brauesen, who each chipped in one. The Cougars totaled nine minutes in penalty time with two minors and one major and went 1-for-3 on the power play. Zach Larson made 35 saves for Roseville on 38 shots. The Raiders incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
