Johnson's hat trick boosts Hibbing / Chisholm over St. Francis, 6-4

Adam Johnson netted a hat trick to lead the Hibbing / Chisholm Bluejackets over the St. Francis Saints, 6-4.

Johnson's first goal came 16:16 into the second period. He then added goals at 7:15 into the third and at 15:16 into the third.

Hibbing / Chisholm led by three goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when the Bluejackets' Cole Maki's scored at 7:41 in the third period to put Hibbing / Chisholm up 5-2.

The Bluejackets surpassed their usual scoring output this season. This season, Hibbing / Chisholm averages 2.5 goals per contest. The 38 shots that the Bluejackets put on net surpassed Hibbing / Chisholm's average of 1.4 shot per game this season.

Colten Perkins also scored for Hibbing / Chisholm. In addition, Hibbing / Chisholm received assists from Joe Kanipes, who had two and Ty Birdsall, Cole Schafer, and Eric Gotz, who each chipped in one.

St. Francis forced the Bluejackets goalie Tyler Carlson to work between the pipes, taking 38 shots.

The Saints were led by Cameron Kaehler, who racked up two goals and two assists. Kaehler scored the first of his two goals at 10:27 into the third period to make the score 5-3 Hibbing / Chisholm. Zach Foesch assisted on the tally. Kaehler's next tally made the score 5-4 Hibbing / Chisholm with 8:02 left in the third period. Foesch picked up the assist. St. Francis also got points from Foesch, who also registered one goal and two assists. St. Francis also got a goal from Ben Falk as well. More assists for St. Francis came via Justin Nielsen, who had two.

Hibbing / Chisholm's Carlson stopped 34 shots out of the 38 that he faced. The Bluejackets incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Darion Hanson recorded 32 saves for St. Francis. The Saints incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
