Prairie Centre beats Bagley/Foston 3-2 after comeback scare

The Prairie Centre North Stars survived a determined comeback attempt by the Bagley/Foston Flyers on the way to a 3-2 win.

Prairie Centre took a 3-1 lead during the third period, only to have Bagley/Foston storm back on a Brady Anderson goal 5:00 into the third period to pull to one goal down.

The North Stars were paced by Adam Froseth, who grabbed one goal and one assist. Froseth scored 2:00 into the third period to make the score Prairie Centre. Ryan Ritter provided the assist.

Prairie Centre managed to stay out of the box better than usual, totaling one minor for two minutes in penalty time. The North Stars finished below its season average of 10.0 penalty minutes per game.

Prairie Centre additionally got points from Sam Ecker, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Preston Pung also scored for Prairie Centre.

The Flyers excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. Bagley/Foston did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Flyers put an average of 4.8 pucks into the net per game.

Bagley/Foston was helped by Aaron Leintz, who registered one goal. Leintz scored 14:14 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Sean LaVine assisted on the tally. In addition, Bagley/Foston received assists from Tyler Godin and Iver Papke, who each chipped in one.

Clay Deters recorded 19 saves for Prairie Centre. The Flyers' Ben Thoma stopped 21 shots out of the 24 that he faced. Bagley/Foston incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
