Litchfield/Dassel-Cokato wins tough contest against Prairie Centre, 4-2

The Litchfield/Dassel-Cokato Dragons gutted out a close 4-2 win against the Prairie Centre North Stars.

Litchfield/Dassel-Cokato gained the winning advantage on a goal by Eddie Estrada 1:40 into the second period and hung on until final buzzer.

Estrada was all over the ice for the Dragons, as he racked up two goals in the win.

Prairie Centre was unable to stop Litchfield/Dassel-Cokato from sending pucks towards the net, and the Dragons eventually piled up 35 shots on goal.

Litchfield/Dassel-Cokato additionally got points from Mike Spreiter, who also had one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Isak Haataja also scored for Litchfield/Dassel-Cokato. Other players who recorded assists for Litchfield/Dassel-Cokato were Grant Ryynanen and Brady Meyer, who each chipped in one.

The North Stars put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Litchfield/Dassel-Cokato to score on any of its three power plays.

Prairie Centre was helped by Sam Ecker, who grabbed one goal. Ecker scored 11:29 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Trent Berscheit assisted on the tally. Prairie Centre also got a goal from Preston Pung as well. In addition, Prairie Centre received assists from Kyle Rutten and Zack Pierskalla, who contributed one a piece.

The Dragons' Braeden Wahl stopped 19 shots out of the 21 that he faced. Litchfield/Dassel-Cokato incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Clay Deters made 31 saves for the North Stars on 35 shots. Prairie Centre incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
