The Warroad Warriors and the East Grand Forks Green Wave skate to 4-4 (OT) tie

Even though Warroad's Ben Smieja netted two goals and Casey Anderson ccontributed one point, the Warriors was held to a tie by East Grand Forks, 4-4 (OT).

The Green Wave were unable to stop Warroad from sending pucks towards the net, and the Warriors eventually piled up 35 shots on goal.

Warroad additionally got points from Kobe Roth, who also registered one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Warroad were Jared Bethune, Brandon Newhouse, and Nick Jaycox, who each chipped in one.

East Grand Forks forced Warroad goalie Justin King to work between the pipes, taking 41 shots. The Green Wave's defense was uncharacteristically lax during the game. East Grand Forks is averaging 1.7 goal against for the season.

The Green Wave were led by Nick Korynta, who tallied two goals. Korynta scored the first of his two goals at 14:49 into the first period to make the score 2-0 East Grand Forks. Nick Ranten assisted on the tally. Korynta's next tally made the score 3-1 East Grand Forks with 5:11 left in the second period. Rayce Martin picked up the assist. East Grand Forks also got points from Tanner Tweten, who also finished with one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. East Grand Forks also got a goal from Reed Corbid as well. In addition, East Grand Forks received assists from Tye Ausmus, who had two and Eddie Eades and Grant Loven, who contributed one a piece.

Justin King made 37 saves for the Warriors on 41 shots. Warroad incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. East Grand Forks' Tanner Lindstrom stopped 31 shots out of the 35 that he faced. The Green Wave incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
