St. Thomas Academy blows out South St.Paul, 6-1

The St. Thomas Academy Cadets were firing on all cylinders against the South St.Paul Packers, and when the final buzzer sounded Cadets emerged with a 6-1 win.

Dan McManus had one goal and two assists to lead St. Thomas Academy. McManus scored on the power play zero seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 St. Thomas Academy.

South St.Paul was unable to stop the Cadets from sending pucks towards the net, and St. Thomas Academy eventually piled up 49 shots on goal.

St. Thomas Academy additionally got points from Tom Novak, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Christiano Versich, who also registered one goal and one assist. Others who scored for St. Thomas Academy included Matt Perry, who had one and Alex Johnson, who had two. In addition, St. Thomas Academy received assists from Jack Dougherty, T.J. Samec, Tony Bretzman, Jack Stang, Henry Hart, and Austin Sattler, who each chipped in one.

The Packers managed to stay out of the box better than usual, racking up one minor for two minutes in penalty time. South St.Paul finished below its season average of 11.0 penalty minutes per game.

The Cadets' David Zevnik stopped 15 shots out of the 16 that he faced. St. Thomas Academy incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Grant Amelse made 43 saves for the Packers on 49 shots. South St.Paul registered zero goals on two power play opportunities.
