Simley's comeback falls short, River Falls WI wins 5-3

River Falls WI, which led by four goals at one point, survived a comeback attempt by River Falls WI and clinched a 5-3 victory.

River Falls WI led by four goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when River Falls WI's Billy Jerry's scored at 11:42 in the second period to put River Falls WI up 4-0.

River Falls WI got the win thanks to a great game by Jerry, who had one goal and three assists.

River Falls WI put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Simley Spartans to score on any of their five power plays. River Falls WI forced Simley goalie Mike Sarantos to work between the pipes, taking 31 shots.

River Falls WI also got points from Connor Maxwell, who also grabbed two goals and one assist and Casey Jerry, who also racked up one goal and four assists to lead the team in points. Mason Woiwode also scored for River Falls WI. In addition, River Falls WI received assists from Brady Stocker, who had one.

The Spartans were helped by Aaron Leafgren, who finished with one goal. Leafgren scored 15:42 into the second period to make the score 4-2 River Falls WI. Mitch Vogel assisted on the tally. Simley also got a goal from John Reibert as well. More assists for Simley came via Nick Battis, Pat Short, and Ben Johnson, who contributed one a piece.

River Falls WI's Corbin Renslow stopped 24 shots out of the 27 that he faced. River Falls WI totaled 23 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 3-for-6 on the power play. Mike Sarantos made 26 saves for Simley on 31 shots. The Spartans ended with 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major.
