The Virginia/Mountain Iron-Buhl Blue Devils took the lead against the Albert Lea Tigers in the first period and maintained it until the end of the game to secure a tight 3-1 victory.

A goal 13:49 into the the first period by Louie Judnick proved to be the game winner, and powered Virginia/Mountain Iron-Buhl to the victory Jordan Przybylski assisted on the tally.

The Blue Devils were paced by Colton Anderson, who grabbed one goal. Anderson scored 4:38 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Virginia/Mountain Iron-Buhl. Jackson Marcone picked up the assist.

Virginia/Mountain Iron-Buhl's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Albert Lea power plays. The Blue Devils' offense rang up 39 shots on Albert Lea's net.

Zach Voss also scored for Virginia/Mountain Iron-Buhl. In addition, Virginia/Mountain Iron-Buhl received assists from Tom Ostergaard and Mitch Sella, who contributed one a piece.

The Tigers excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances.

Albert Lea was led by Van Zelenak, who scored the team's only goal. Zelenak scored 15:14 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Virginia/Mountain Iron-Buhl.

Lucas Murray made 20 saves for Virginia/Mountain Iron-Buhl on 21 shots. The Blue Devils ended with nine minutes in penalty time with two minors and one major. The Tigers' Garret Matz stopped 36 shots out of the 39 that he faced. Albert Lea incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
