Crookston rolls over Red Lake Falls, 9-0

The Red Lake Falls Eagles had trouble finding ways to stop the Crookston Pirates, which beat Eagles, 9-0.

Ryan Edevold was all over the ice for Crookston, as he tallied one goal and five assists in the win. Edevold scored 7:49 into the third period to make the score 8-0 Crookston. Ryan Bittner assisted on the tally.

The Pirates' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Red Lake Falls power plays. Crookston's offense rang up 59 shots on Red Lake Falls' net. The Pirates' goal total was higher than their season average. Crookston has scored at the pace of 4.4 goals per game during the current campaign. The Pirates got an offensive boost from their blueliners, who contributed three goals during the game.

Crookston additionally got points from Bittner, who also tallied one goal and three assists and Justin Cameron, who also registered one goal and two assists. Crookston also had goals scored by Brady Heppner, who had two and Kyle Proulx, Dylan Klatt, Montell Tate, and Nate Erickson, who scored one goal each. In addition, Crookston received assists from Connor Morgan, Blake Brekken, and Doug Larson, who contributed one a piece.

The Eagles did not challenge the opposing netminder, only getting seven shots on net to force seven saves. Red Lake Falls struggled on the penalty kill, allowing Crookston to score three power play goals on five chances.

Parker Epema made seven saves for the Pirates on seven shots. Crookston incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Wyatt Casavan recorded 50 saves for the Eagles. Red Lake Falls incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
