The Detroit Lakes Lakers and the Prairie Centre North Stars skate to 4-4 (OT) tie

Detroit Lakes and Prairie Centre could not settle their match and fought to a 4-4 tie.

The Lakers kept the North Stars' goalie busy throughout the game, and Clay Deters made 47 saves on 51 shots. Detroit Lakes' penalty kill was ineffective, and let in three goals to Prairie Centre's power play unit.

The Lakers were helped by Taylor Magnusson, who tallied one goal. Magnusson scored on the power play 12:22 into the first period to make the score 2-2. Detroit Lakes had taken the advantage when the North Stars' Ryan Ritter got sent off for hooking. Michael Hermann assisted on the tally. Detroit Lakes also got points from Hermann, who also registered one goal and one assist and Ryan Deconcini, who also had one goal and one assist. Detroit Lakes also got a goal from Connor Collins as well. Other players who recorded assists for Detroit Lakes were Isaac Fondrick and Taylor Johnson, who each chipped in one and Austin Rusness and Jonathan Hallisey, who contributed two a piece.

Prairie Centre forced the Lakers goalie MacKenzie Steele to work between the pipes, taking 31 shots. The North Stars bested their season scoring average. Prairie Centre averages 1.8 goal per game.

The North Stars were helped by Sam Ecker, who racked up one goal. Ecker scored on the power play 7:31 into the third period to make the score 4-3 Prairie Centre. Prairie Centre had gained a power play chance when Magnusson was whistled for elbowing. Preston Pung picked up the assist. Prairie Centre additionally got points from Cody Steward, who also racked up one goal and one assist and Pung, who also tallied one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Noah Schmitz also scored for Prairie Centre. More assists for Prairie Centre came via Tyler Christanson, Zack Pierskalla, and Trent Berscheit, who each chipped in one.

Steele rejected 27 shots on goal for Detroit Lakes. The Lakers incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. The North Stars incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
