Detroit Lakes rolls over Prairie Centre, 4-1

Austin Rusness was all over the ice for the Detroit Lakes Lakers, as he tallied one goal and two assists in Detroit Lakes' 4-1 win over the Prairie Centre North Stars.

Rusness beat Clay Deters with a shot 16:31 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Detroit Lakes. Michael Hermann assisted on the tally. Rusness dished an assist on Taylor Magnusson's goal that made the score 1-0 Detroit Lakes at 4:25 into the first period. He added another helper on Dylan Bremseth's goal that made the score 3-0 Detroit Lakes at 6:49 into the third period.

The Lakers were led by goalie MacKenzie Steele, who finished with 25 saves while allowing one goal. The solid play of Steele will be reflected in his goals against average, which pre-game was 8.0.

Detroit Lakes kept Prairie Centre's goalie busy throughout the game, and Deters made 39 saves on 43 shots. The Lakers got an offensive boost from their blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game.

Dahlen Olson also scored for Detroit Lakes. More assists for Detroit Lakes came via Johnathan Hallisey, Ryan Deconcini, and Isaac Fondrick, who contributed one a piece.

Detroit Lakes incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The North Stars incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
