Engelstad's hat trick boosts Thief River Falls/Goodridge over East Grand Forks, 6-2

The East Grand Forks Green Wave could not stop the Thief River Falls/Goodridge Prowlers' Logan Engelstad, who tallied a hat trick in a 6-2 win.

Engelstad notched his first tally 3:11 into the first period. He then added goals at 8:19 into the first and at 14:02 into the third.

Thief River Falls/Goodridge's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four East Grand Forks power plays. The Prowlers surpassed their usual scoring output this season. Thief River Falls/Goodridge has scored at the pace of 3.2 goals per game during the current campaign.

Thief River Falls/Goodridge additionally got points from Chris Forney, who also registered one goal and one assist and Ian Lund, who also had one goal and one assist. Zeb Nelson also scored for Thief River Falls/Goodridge. More assists for Thief River Falls/Goodridge came via Isak Bergland, Logan Ose, and Adam Pancoast, who contributed one a piece.

East Grand Forks did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Green Wave put an average of 4.8 pucks into the net per game. East Grand Forks forced the Prowlers goalie Tanner Holmes to work between the pipes, taking 33 shots. The Green Wave's defense let in more goals than it usually has this year. The Green Wave were led by Kolton Aubol, who grabbed one goal. Aubol scored 5:53 into the third period to make the score 4-2 Thief River Falls/Goodridge. Dixon Bowen provided the assist. East Grand Forks also got a goal from Taylor Brierley as well. In addition, East Grand Forks received assists from Tommy Hajicek, Tanner Tweten, and Eddie Eades, who each chipped in one.

Tanner Holmes made 31 saves for Thief River Falls/Goodridge on 33 shots. The Prowlers incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. East Grand Forks' Tanner Lindstrom stopped 13 shots out of the 19 that he faced. The Green Wave incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
