Huge game by Forney boosts Thief River Falls/Goodridge over Warroad, 5-1

The Thief River Falls/Goodridge Prowlers' Chris Forney had a big offensive game, scoring one goal and contributing three assists in his team's 5-1 win over the Warroad Warriors.

Forney beat Justin King with a shot 5:56 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Thief River Falls/Goodridge. Logan Ose assisted on the tally. Forney dished an assist on Isak Bergland's goal that made the score 1-0 Thief River Falls/Goodridge at 1:07 into the first period. He then added assists on Bergland's goal at 12:13 into the second and on Wyatt Ortloff's goal at 5:44 into the third.

Thief River Falls/Goodridge forced Warroad goalie King to work between the pipes, taking 40 shots. The Prowlers capitalized on the Warriors' penalties, netting two goals while skating with a man advantage.

Thief River Falls/Goodridge additionally got points from Bergland, who also racked up two goals and one assist and Logan Engelstad, who also grabbed one goal and two assists. Other players who recorded assists for Thief River Falls/Goodridge were Adam Pancoast and Murphy Fellman, who each chipped in one.

Warroad could not produce up to it normal offensive output. The Warriors average 3.5 goals per game. Warroad's defense was uncharacteristically lax during the game. The Warriors average 2.5 goals allowed per game.

Tanner Holmes rejected 23 shots on goal for Thief River Falls/Goodridge. The Prowlers incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. King recorded 35 saves for Warroad. The Warriors incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors. Warroad ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Nick Jaycox was ejected from the game.
