Forney leads Thief River Falls/Goodridge over Park Rapids, 7-2Ralph Engelstad Tue, Jan 08, 2013 Chris Forney was all over the ice for the Thief River Falls/Goodridge Prowlers, as he tallied one goal and two assists in Thief River Falls/Goodridge's 7-2 win over the Park Rapids Panthers. Forney beat Cody Brumbaugh with a shot 1:00 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Thief River Falls/Goodridge. Grady Pederson picked up the assist. Forney dished an assist on Logan Engelstad's goal that made the score 5-2 Thief River Falls/Goodridge at 3:54 into the third period. He added another helper on Ian Lund's goal that made the score 6-2 Thief River Falls/Goodridge at 11:17 into the third period.The Prowlers put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Park Rapids to score on any of its three power plays. Thief River Falls/Goodridge's offense rang up 53 shots on the Panthers' net. The Prowlers bested their season scoring average. Thief River Falls/Goodridge has scored at the pace of 2.9 goals per game during the current campaign. Thief River Falls/Goodridge also got points from Isak Bergland, who also had two goals and two assists to lead the team in points and Engelstad, who also grabbed two goals and one assist. In addition, Thief River Falls/Goodridge received assists from Wyatt Ortloff, Zeb Nelson, and Justin Stein, who each chipped in one. The defensemen of Park Rapids were also effective in the Prowlers' zone, and came away with two goals. The Panthers were helped by Jamie Stewart, who registered one goal. Stewart scored 6:12 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Thief River Falls/Goodridge. Matt DelaHunt assisted on the tally. Frank Moren also scored for Park Rapids. Other players who recorded assists for Park Rapids were Ian Johnson, who had one. Tanner Holmes rejected 22 shots on goal for Thief River Falls/Goodridge. The Prowlers incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors and had no power play opportunities. Cody Brumbaugh made 46 saves for Park Rapids on 53 shots.
