Hill-Murray blows out Mahtomedi, 6-0

The Mahtomedi Zephyers had trouble finding ways to stop the Hill-Murray Pioneers, which beat Zephyers, 6-0.

Hill-Murray was led by Zach LaValle, who registered one goal and one assist. LaValle scored 2:42 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Hill-Murray. Josh French picked up the assist.

The Pioneers' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Mahtomedi power plays. Hill-Murray put 44 shots on net during the contest, more than the 2.6 it averages per game.

Hill-Murray also got points from French, who also finished with one goal and two assists to lead the team in points, Willie Brown, who also racked up one goal and one assist, and Tyler Funk, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Hill-Murray also got a goal from Curt LaChappelle as well. In addition, Hill-Murray received assists from Mitch Slattery, who had two and Joey Anderson, Logan Sharp, and Dustin Krueger, who each chipped in one.

Mahtomedi could not produce up to it normal offensive output. The Zephyers put an average of 3.6 pucks into the net per game.

The Pioneers' John Dugas stopped 18 shots out of the 18 that he faced. Hill-Murray incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Colin Denis made 38 saves for Mahtomedi on 44 shots. The Zephyers incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
