Hill-Murray beats Richfield 12-0 as Anderson gets hat trick

Joey Anderson netted a hat trick to lead the Hill-Murray Pioneers over the Richfield Spartans, 12-0.

Anderson notched his first tally 1:27 into the first period. He then added goals at 4:40 into the first and at 9:50 into the third.

Hill-Murray led 7-0 after the opening frame the first period and maintained a healthy margin after.

The Pioneers managed to stay out of the box better than usual, finishing with one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Hill-Murray ended up below its season average of 8.0 penalty minutes per game. The Pioneers outdid their season average for goals scored. This season, Hill-Murray averages 5.1 goals per contest. With 62 shots on target during the contest, the Pioneers exceeded the 3.0 shots they average per game this year.

Hill-Murray also got points from Logan Sharp, who also racked up one goal and one assist, Josh French, who also tallied one goal and one assist, Willie Brown, who also finished with two goals and two assists, Zach LaValle, who also registered two goals and two assists, and Mitch Slattery, who also had one goal and three assists. Hill-Murray also got a goal from Mike Rawlings as well. In addition, Hill-Murray received assists from Tyler Funk, who had four, Dan Dolan, Ryan Black, and Sam Becker, who contributed one a piece, and Davis Zarembinski and Zach Mills, who each chipped in two.

Richfield could not produce up to it normal offensive output. The Spartans put an average of 2.5 pucks into the net per game. Richfield found itself stymied offensively, and got off a mere nine shots against Hill-Murray's defense.

Casey Ryan made nine saves for the Pioneers on nine shots. Hill-Murray registered one goal on two power play opportunities. John Meyer rejected 50 shots on goal for the Spartans. Richfield incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
