St. Thomas Academy downs Hill-Murray, 2-1

Gunnar Regan racked up one point to lead the St. Thomas Academy Cadets to a 2-1 victory over the Hill-Murray Pioneers.

St. Thomas Academy stifled Hill-Murray's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Cadets did not reach the goal total they have come to expect this season. St. Thomas Academy puts an average of 4.6 pucks into the net per game. The Cadets kept the Pioneers' goalie busy throughout the game, and John Dugas made 29 saves on 31 shots.

Jake Geiser also scored for St. Thomas Academy. In addition, St. Thomas Academy received assists from Jack Dougherty, Tony Bretzman, Tom Novak, and Dan McManus, who contributed one a piece.

Hill-Murray was led by Coten Greeder, who scored the team's only goal. Greeder scored 2:43 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Hill-Murray. Matt Littler assisted on the tally.

David Zevnik recorded 23 saves for St. Thomas Academy. The Cadets incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. The Pioneers totaled 11 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major and went 0-for-3 on the power play.
