Hill-Murray rips Lakeville South, 5-0

The Lakeville South Cougars had trouble finding ways to stop the Hill-Murray Pioneers, which beat Cougars, 5-0.

Hill-Murray was sparked by Mike Rawlings, who registered one goal. Rawlings scored 13:57 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Hill-Murray. Zach LaValle provided the assist.

The Pioneers excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. Hill-Murray forced Lakeville South goalie Tyler Schumacher to work between the pipes, taking 33 shots.

Hill-Murray also got points from LaValle, who also finished with one goal and two assists to lead the team in points and Mitch Slattery, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Ryan Black also scored for Hill-Murray. More assists for Hill-Murray came via Sam Becker, who had one and Dustin Krueger, Curt LaChappelle, and Willie Brown, who contributed two a piece.

The 15 shots that the Cougars put on net surpassed Lakeville South's average of 10.5 shots per game this season.

John Dugas made 15 saves for the Pioneers on 15 shots. Hill-Murray incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Schumacher recorded 28 saves for the Cougars. Lakeville South incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
