Hill-Murray downs Edina in overtime, 2-1 (OT)

Zach LaValle gave the Hill-Murray Pioneers a 2-1 (OT) victory over the Edina Hornets when he scored 1:02 into the extra period.

Hill-Murray was led by goalie John Dugas, who finished with 26 saves while allowing one goal. Dugas managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 1.15 prior to the game.

The Pioneers were sparked by LaValle, who racked up one goal and one assist.

Hill-Murray's offense was clicking better than usual and put 33 shots on goal during the game, better than the 3.0 shots per game it averages.

Coten Greeder also scored for Hill-Murray. In addition, Hill-Murray received assists from Mitch Slattery, who had one.

Edina excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. The Hornets' offense operated below they season average. Edina puts an average of 3.8 pucks into the net per game. The 27 shots that the Hornets put on net surpassed Edina's average of 13.0 shots per game this season. The Hornets' offense was helped by the efforts of their defensemen, who managed to put 12 shots on net during the game.

Edina was led by Tim Spicola, who scored the team's only goal. Spicola scored 4:46 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Edina.

The Pioneers incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Andrew Rohkohl recorded 31 saves for the Hornets. Edina incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
