Hopkins rolls over Robbinsdale Armstrong, 9-1Hopkins Pavilion Sat, Dec 01, 2012 The Hopkins Royals were firing on all cylinders against the Robbinsdale Armstrong Falcons, and when the final buzzer sounded Royals emerged with a 9-1 win. Hopkins got the win with help from a great game by Joshua Laven, who had two goals and four assists. Laven scored the first of his two goals at 3:42 into the third period to make the score 6-1 Hopkins. Laven's next tally made the score 7-1 Hopkins with 12:27 left in the third period. Matt Hines picked up the assist. Robbinsdale Armstrong was doomed by its poor performance on special teams, as the Royals were able to score five times while on the power play. Hopkins surpassed its usual scoring output this season. The Royals average 4.0 goals per game. Hopkins' offense was handcuffed by the Falcons' defensive play, and the Royals managed only nine shots on goal during the game. Hopkins also got points from Ryan Kimbrel, who also registered one goal and one assist, Hines, who also had one goal and one assist, and Jonah Shoemaker-Gagnon, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Ryan Davis also scored for Hopkins. More assists for Hopkins came via Max Ostenso, who had one. Robbinsdale Armstrong did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Falcons put an average of 5.0 pucks into the net per game. Robbinsdale Armstrong was led by Brady Anderson, who scored the team's only goal. Anderson scored 2:25 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Robbinsdale Armstrong. Kristian Evans provided the assist. The Falcons avoided the penalty box for the entire game and scored zero goals off of zero power plays.
