New Prague beats Northfield 6-2 as Isaacson gets hat trickNew Prague Area CC Sat, Feb 16, 2013 The Northfield Raiders could not stop the New Prague Spartans' Austin Isaacson, who tallied a hat trick in a 6-2 win. Isaacson notched his first tally 2:50 into the second period. He then added goals at 3:15 into the second and at 12:38 into the second.Northfield was doomed by its poor performance on special teams, as New Prague was able to score four times while on the power play. The Spartans forced the Raiders goalie Ryan Bielenberg to work between the pipes, taking 50 shots. New Prague found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. This season, the Spartans average 3.2 goals per contest. New Prague additionally got points from Cody Meyer, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Austin Kilian, who also registered one goal and one assist. Alex Gregor also scored for New Prague. In addition, New Prague received assists from Jake Klein, who had two and Ben Witt, Nick Sampson, Kain Wagner, Seth Kriha, and Evan Bisek, who each chipped in one. Northfield was led by Nate Picha, who had one goal. Picha scored short handed 12:19 into the second period to make the score 3-1 New Prague. A boarding call on Taylor Freiermuth put the Raiders on the penalty kill. Andrew Scofield assisted on the tally. Northfield also got a goal from Logan VonRuden as well. Other players who recorded assists for Northfield were Torr Legvold, who had one. Evan Bisek rejected 24 shots on goal for New Prague. The Spartans ended with 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major. Ryan Bielenberg made 44 saves for Northfield on 50 shots. The Raiders were hit with 10 minutes in penalty time with two majors. |
