Scofield's big game bests Detroit Lakes in 8-3 Northfield win

Andrew Scofield was all over the ice for the Northfield Raiders, as he tallied five goals and one assist in Northfield's 8-3 win over the Detroit Lakes Lakers.

Scofield notched his first tally 15:30 into the second period. He then added goals at 59 seconds into the third, at 3:33 into the third, at 3:50 into the third, and at 6:41 into the third.

The Raiders' offense rang up 48 shots on Detroit Lakes' net.

Northfield additionally got points from Logan VonRuden, who also registered one goal and two assists and Taylor Freiermuth, who also had two goals and two assists. More assists for Northfield came via Nate Picha and Torr Legvold, who contributed one a piece and Andrew Carroll and Nathan Scofield, who each chipped in two.

The Lakers were led by Conno Collins, who grabbed one goal and two assists. Collins scored short handed 16:38 into the second period to make the score 3-3. Kyle Herman provided the assist. Detroit Lakes also got points from Herman, who also racked up one goal and one assist and Austin Rusness, who also registered one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Detroit Lakes were Isaac Fondrick and Taylor Magnusson, who contributed one a piece.

Spencer Jones rejected 23 shots on goal for Northfield. The Raiders avoided the penalty box for the entire game and scored one goal off of zero power plays. MacKenzie Steele recorded 40 saves for Detroit Lakes. The Lakers ended with no penalties and went 1-for-0 on the power play.
