Wayzata wins tough contest against Osseo, 4-3

The Wayzata Trojans and the Osseo Orioles were evenly matched throughout their contest, but Wayzata made the most of its opportunities and won, 4-3.

No lead was more than one goal during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Maxwell Zimmer at 6:28 of the third period.

The Trojans got the win thanks to a great game by Zimmer, who had two goals and one assist. Zimmer scored the first of his two goals at 15:05 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Wayzata. Zimmer's next tally made the score 4-3 Wayzata with 13:32 left in the third period. Wayzata had gotten the advantage when Osseo's Zach Heiser was sent off for interference.

The 27 shots that the Trojans put on net surpassed Wayzata's average of 5.5 shots per game this season.

Wayzata also got a goal from Jalen Wahl as well. More assists for Wayzata came via Alex Stevens, who had one and Chandler Linstrand, who had two.

The Orioles were led by Jared Vance, who registered three goals. Other players who recorded assists for Osseo were Drake Stimpson, who had two and Ben Christofferson, Chris Madsen, and Drew Lofgren, who contributed one a piece.

Jens Vaughn Arens rejected 18 shots on goal for the Trojans. Wayzata totaled 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 1-for-4 on the power play. Connor Dahlberg recorded 23 saves for Osseo. The Orioles incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
