The Lakeville South Cougars could not stop the Edina Hornets' Connor Hurley, who tallied a hat trick in a 6-1 win.

Hurley's first goal came 5:13 into the first period. He then added goals at 11:19 into the first and at 12:54 into the third.

Edina excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. With 45 shots on target during the contest, the Hornets exceeded the 15.0 shots they average per game this year.

Edina also got points from Andy Jordahl, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Dylan Malmquist, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Edina also got a goal from Tim Spicola as well. Other players who recorded assists for Edina were Matt Nelson, Bo Brauer, and Matt Masterman, who each chipped in one and Parker Reno and Tyler Nanne, who contributed two a piece.

The defense for Lakeville South played an important role offensively, racking up 10 shots on goal.

Willie Benjamin made 20 saves for Edina on 21 shots. The Hornets incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Tyler Schumacher recorded 39 saves for the Cougars. Lakeville South ended with seven minutes in penalty time with one minor and one major.
