Foesch's big game bests Chisago Lakes Area in 6-1 St. Francis win

The St. Francis Saints' Zach Foesch had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing two assists in his team's 6-1 win over the Chisago Lakes Area Wildcats.

Foesch scored at 15:55 into the second period to make the score 2-1 St. Francis and again while 34 seconds into the third to make the score 3-1 St. Francis.

St. Francis' Darion Hanson was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 32 saves and let only one puck past him. The solid play of Hanson will be reflected in his goals against average, which pre-game was 3.66.

The Saints excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. St. Francis' offense rang up 37 shots on Chisago Lakes Area's net.

St. Francis additionally got points from Ryan Mohar, who also registered one goal and one assist and Cameron Kaehler, who also tallied one goal and three assists to lead the team in points. St. Francis also got a goal from Brett Aldrich as well. In addition, St. Francis received assists from Tate Blankenship and Kyle Wagner, who each chipped in one.

The Wildcats could not produce up to they normal offensive output. Chisago Lakes Area averages 4.1 goals per game. The Wildcats forced the Saints goalie Hanson to work between the pipes, taking 33 shots. Chisago Lakes Area's defense let in more goals than it usually has this year. The Wildcats are averaging 2.5 goals against for the season.

Chisago Lakes Area was led by Louis Kastenbauer, who scored the team's only goal. Kastenbauer scored 55 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 Chisago Lakes Area. Jacob Breyfogle picked up the assist.

St. Francis totaled 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors and two majors and went 0-for-2 on the power play. Jacob Dubose rejected 31 shots on goal for the Wildcats. Chisago Lakes Area ended with 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major.
