Roo nets hat trick, leads Totino-Grace to 5-1 win over South St.Paul

TJ Roo netted a hat trick to lead the Totino-Grace Eagles over the South St.Paul Packers, 5-1.

Roo got on the scoresheet 4:56 into the second period. He then added goals at 12:27 into the second and at 5:57 into the third.

Totino-Grace was led by goalie Michael Larson, who finished with 29 saves while allowing one goal. The solid play of Larson will be reflected in his goals against average, which pre-game was 3.14.

The Eagles' penalty kill excelled, as Totino-Grace gave up zero goals despite allowing six power plays.

The Eagles stifled South St.Paul's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Totino-Grace's offense rang up 46 shots on the Packers' net.

Totino-Grace also got points from Carter Roo, who also racked up one goal and two assists. Totino-Grace also got a goal from Kai Barber as well. In addition, Totino-Grace received assists from Derek Lodermeier, who had two and Charlie Miller, Brandon Hilliard, Ben Henderson, and Brennan Swan, who each chipped in one.

South St.Paul put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Eagles to score on any of their three power plays.

The Packers were led by Billy Brandecker, who scored the team's only goal. Brandecker scored 1:52 into the third period to make the score 3-1 Totino-Grace. Jack Pietruzewski assisted on the tally.

Totino-Grace incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. South St.Paul's Grant Amelse stopped 41 shots out of the 46 that he faced. The Packers incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
