Breck School wins tough contest against Totino-Grace, 5-3Parade Ice Garden Tue, Jan 08, 2013 The Breck School Mustangs gutted out a close 5-3 win against the Totino-Grace Eagles. No lead was more than two goals during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Thomas Lindstrom at 8:08 of the third period. Matt Colford had two goals and two assists to lead Breck School. Colford scored the first of his two goals at 4:07 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Totino-Grace. Lindstrom provided the assist. Colford's next tally made the score 5-3 Breck School with 3:32 left in the third period. The Mustangs forced Totino-Grace goalie Rory Davidowski to work between the pipes, taking 40 shots. Breck School struggled on the penalty kill, allowing the Eagles to score two power play goals on three chances. Breck School also got points from Lindstrom, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Breck School also got a goal from Chase Ellingson as well. In addition, Breck School received assists from Jack O''Connor, Mark Sharp, Ben Gleekel, and Tyler Lindstrom, who contributed one a piece. Totino-Grace excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. The Eagles did not reach the goal total they have come to expect this season. Totino-Grace puts an average of 5.8 pucks into the net per game. The Eagles gave up more goals than its normal season average. Totino-Grace gives up 1.9 goal per game. The Eagles were helped by Chandler Nauman, who registered one goal. Nauman scored on the power play 9:16 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Totino-Grace. Totino-Grace had gotten the advantage when the Mustangs' Derek Wiitala was sent off for elbowing. Matt Olson assisted on the tally. Totino-Grace additionally got points from TJ Roo, who also finished with one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Marco Lucarelli also scored for Totino-Grace. More assists for Totino-Grace came via Noah Vosen, Carter Roo, and Derek Lodermeier, who each chipped in one. Henry Johnson made 20 saves for Breck School on 23 shots. The Mustangs incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Davidowski recorded 35 saves for the Eagles. Totino-Grace incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
