Huge game by Lau boosts Blaine over Osseo, 6-1Dick Vraa Arena Sat, Jan 26, 2013 The Blaine Bengals' Joey Lau had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing one assist in his team's 6-1 win over the Osseo Orioles. Lau found the back of the net 2:29 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Blaine and again while 11:47 into the second to make the score 3-1 Blaine.The defensemen of Blaine were also effective in Osseo's zone, and came away with two goals. The Bengals' offense was clicking better than usual and put 37 shots on goal during the game, better than the 1.8 shot per game they average. Blaine also got points from Tyler Cline, who also had one goal and one assist. Blaine also got a goal from Tanner Tufte as well. Other players who recorded assists for Blaine were Alex Copa, who had two and Mac Nadeau, Luke Notermann, Dallas Gerads, and Jack Micek, who each chipped in one. The Orioles found themselves stymied offensively, and got off a mere 12 shots against Blaine's defense. Osseo was led by Tyler Sims, who scored the team's only goal. Sims scored on the power play 9:36 into the first period to make the score 1-1. A tripping penalty on Gerads had put the Orioles on the power play. Josh Stromberg picked up the assist. The Bengals' Bailey Ketola stopped 11 shots out of the 12 that he faced. Blaine incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Alex Otto recorded 31 saves for Osseo. The Orioles incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
