Duluth East downs Maple Grove, 3-0

Alex Toscano finished with two points to lead the Duluth East Greyhounds to a 3-0 victory over the Maple Grove Crimson.

Duluth East excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. The Greyhounds put 31 shots on net during the contest, more than the 6.2 they average per game.

Nick Altman also scored for Duluth East. Other players who recorded assists for Duluth East were Ryan Lundgren, who had two and Alex Trapp, Maysen Rust, and Justin Smith, who each chipped in one.

Maple Grove managed to stay out of the box better than usual, totaling one minor for two minutes in penalty time. The Crimson wound up below its season average of 11.0 penalty minutes per game. Maple Grove's offense operated below it season average. The Crimson average 3.1 goals per game. Maple Grove's offense was clicking better than usual and put 21 shots on goal during the game, better than the 2.7 shots per game it averages.

Dylan Parker made 21 saves for Duluth East on 21 shots. The Greyhounds incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. The Crimson's Calvin McKenney stopped 28 shots out of the 31 that he faced.
