Centennial pulls away in second, rolls over Robbinsdale Armstrong, 8-0

The Centennial Cougars scored three goals in the second period to pull away from the Robbinsdale Armstrong Falcons and clinch an 8-0 win.

Ryner Gorowsky had one goal and four assists to lead Centennial. Gorowsky scored 5:31 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Centennial. Colin Hughes picked up the assist.

The Cougars' defensive play was more effective than usual against Robbinsdale Armstrong. Centennial allows 2.1 goals per game. The Cougars found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. Centennial averages 4.1 goals per game. By firing 36 shots on goal, the Cougars exceeded the 1.3 shot they average per game this year.

Centennial also got points from Wyatt Close, who also had one goal and one assist, Andrew Bertrand, who also finished with one goal and two assists, and Adam Anderson, who also registered one goal and one assist. Centennial also had goals scored by Ryan Meany, who had one and Hans Gorowsky, who had three. More assists for Centennial came via Jordan Pitlick, Kenny Sinna, Colton Berg, and Will Schwartz, who each chipped in one.

The Falcons' offense operated below they season average. Robbinsdale Armstrong puts an average of 2.5 pucks into the net per game.

Jonathan Albers recorded 24 saves for Centennial. The Cougars incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. The Falcons' Grant Mathiason stopped 28 shots out of the 36 that he faced. Robbinsdale Armstrong totaled 11 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major and went 0-for-2 on the power play.
