Johnson's big game bests Robbinsdale Cooper in 7-1 Coon Rapids win

Seth Johnson was all over the ice for the Coon Rapids Cardinals, as he tallied four goals and two assists in Coon Rapids' 7-1 win over the Robbinsdale Cooper Hawks.

Johnson got on the scoresheet 12:46 into the first period. He then added goals at one second1 seconds into the second, at 7:29 into the second, and at 13:53 into the third.

The Cardinals' penalty kill excelled, as Coon Rapids gave up zero goals despite allowing six power plays.

The Cardinals stifled Robbinsdale Cooper's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Coon Rapids forced the Hawks goalie Angel Hillstrom to work between the pipes, taking 36 shots. The Cardinals outdid their season average for goals scored. This season, Coon Rapids averages 2.3 goals per contest.

Coon Rapids additionally got points from Cody Ancheta, who also tallied two goals and one assist. Samuel Naegele also scored for Coon Rapids. More assists for Coon Rapids came via Robbie Randall, who had three and Dominic Hafner and Ryan Weitgenant, who each chipped in one.

Robbinsdale Cooper did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Hawks average 4.7 goals per game.

Robbinsdale Cooper was led by Nehwon Norkeh, who scored the team's only goal. Norkeh scored 13:02 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Coon Rapids. Alex Stager assisted on the tally.

The Cardinals' Justin Ball stopped 17 shots out of the 18 that he faced. Coon Rapids incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Hillstrom recorded 29 saves for the Hawks. Robbinsdale Cooper incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
