Nicholas Bandescu grabbed one point to lead the Elk River Elks to a 2-0 victory over the Osseo Orioles.

Elk River's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Osseo power plays. The Elks were held below their usual level of production. Elk River averages 4.3 goals per game. The Elks kept Osseo's goalie busy throughout the game, and Alex Otto made 48 saves on 50 shots. Elk River could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 14 minutes in penalties during the game.

Jacob Jaremko also scored for Elk River. Other players who recorded assists for Elk River were Wyatt Ege, Blake Hillman, Tim Sandford, and Chase Springman, who contributed one a piece.

The the Orioles penalty box was a popular destination as the team totaled nine minors and one major for 33 minutes in penalty time. Osseo had been averaging 16.0 minutes in penalties per game. The Orioles stifled the Elks' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Elk River's defense shut down Osseo's forwards for much of the game, and the Orioles got off only nine shots during the contest.

MacLean Berglove rejected nine shots on goal for the Elks. Elk River registered zero goals on six power play opportunities. Osseo ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Rudy Alexander was ejected from the game.
