Bloomington Jefferson beats Rosemount 4-2 after comeback scare

The Bloomington Jefferson Jaguars survived a determined comeback attempt by the Rosemount Irish on the way to a 4-2 win.

Bloomington Jefferson took a 4-1 lead during the second period, only to have Rosemount storm back on a Evan Weiand goal 7:11 into the third period to pull to two goals down.

Johnny Panvica had two goals and one assist to lead the Jaguars. Panvica scored the first of his two goals at 2:36 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Jack Graves provided the assist. Panvica's next tally made the score 3-1 Bloomington Jefferson with 9:43 left in the second period. Charlie Straus assisted on the tally.

Bloomington Jefferson forced the Irish goalie Austin Leslie to work between the pipes, taking 47 shots.

Bloomington Jefferson additionally got points from Straus, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Jono Lindquist also scored for Bloomington Jefferson. Other players who recorded assists for Bloomington Jefferson were Cory Rickheim and Collin Hernon, who each chipped in one.

Rosemount racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with six minors and one major for 17 minutes in penalty time. The Irish surpassed its season average of 11.0 penalty minutes per game.

Rosemount was helped by Ryan Foley, who tallied one goal. Foley scored on the power play 57 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 Rosemount. Lukas Gillett picked up the assist. In addition, Rosemount received assists from Anthony Winters, who had two.

Grant Martens rejected 20 shots on goal for the Jaguars. Bloomington Jefferson incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Leslie recorded 43 saves for the Irish. Rosemount registered two goals on five power play opportunities.
