The Lakeville North Panthers tried their best to erase a three-goal deficit, but the Prior Lake Lakers would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 3-2.

A goal by Ben Keckeisen put Prior Lake up 3-0 in the second period, but Lakeville North pulled to within one on Tristan Hazlett's tally 11:51 into the third period.

In the losing effort, the Panthers were led by Hazlett, who registered two goals. Hazlett scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 11:36 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Prior Lake. Lakeville North earned a power play opportunity when Austin Polson McCannon was put in the box for cross checking. Jack Poehling picked up the assist. Hazlett's next tally on the power play made the score 3-2 Prior Lake with 8:09 left in the third period. Connor Hyden assisted on the tally.

Prior Lake also got a goal from Hayden Maxfield as well. Other players who recorded assists for Prior Lake were Gavin Smith, who had one.

The Panthers excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. Lakeville North kept the Lakers' goalie busy throughout the game, and Jordan Moran made 34 saves on 36 shots.

In addition, Lakeville North received assists from Sam Petrick, who had one.

Prior Lake incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Will Dupont rejected 20 shots on goal for the Panthers. Lakeville North incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
