Burnsville blows out Bloomington Kennedy, 6-1Burnsville Ice Center Tue, Feb 12, 2013 The Burnsville Blaze had a four-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 6-1 win over the Bloomington Kennedy Eagles. Burnsville was led by Anthony Rikberg, who grabbed one goal and one assist. Rikberg scored 8:56 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Burnsville. Teemu Kivihalme picked up the assist. The Blaze's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Bloomington Kennedy power plays. Burnsville's goal total was higher than its season average. This season, the Blaze average 3.8 goals per contest. The 37 shots that Burnsville put on net surpassed the Blaze's average of 0.6 shots per game this season. Burnsville also got points from Tyler Sheehy, who also had two goals and one assist to lead the team in points. Burnsville also had goals scored by Cole Borchardt, who had one and Ian Taylor, who had two. More assists for Burnsville came via Andy Shoen, Jack Ahcan, and Mason Schneider, who contributed one a piece. Burnsville's defense shut down Bloomington Kennedy's forwards for much of the game, and the Eagles got off only 14 shots during the contest. The Blaze's Chris Mallon stopped 13 shots out of the 14 that he faced. Burnsville incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors and had no power play opportunities. David Johnson recorded 31 saves for Bloomington Kennedy.
