Prior Lake holds on for 4-2 win against Rosemount

The Rosemount Irish tried to dig themselves out of a three-goal hole, but the Prior Lake Lakers held on for a 4-2 victory.

Prior Lake made the score 4-1 on a goal by Jack Murphy at 11:03 in the third period, and Rosemount got as close as 4-2 when Lukas Hedtke scored 16:27 into the third period.

The Lakers kept the Irish's goalie busy throughout the game, and Tom Fraune made 38 saves on 42 shots.

Prior Lake was helped by Dylan Zins, who had one goal and one assist. Zins scored on the power play 14:26 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Prior Lake. The Lakers had taken the advantage when Rosemount's Luke Meade got sent off for high sticking. Connor Bump assisted on the tally. Prior Lake also got points from Blake Busch, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Will Reedy also scored for Prior Lake. In addition, Prior Lake received assists from Ben Keckeisen and Gavin Smith, who each chipped in one.

The Irish's offense were handcuffed by Prior Lake's defensive play, and Rosemount managed only 14 shots on goal during the game. The Irish got an offensive boost from their blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game.

Rosemount also got a goal from Justin Crowell as well. More assists for Rosemount came via Austin Anderson and Ted Schultz, who contributed one a piece.

The Lakers' Jordan Moran stopped 12 shots out of the 14 that he faced. Prior Lake incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Rosemount incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
