Eagan's Willox deadly on offense in 8-1 win against Rosemount

The Eagan Wildcats relied on the scoring touch of Cullen Willox, who netted four goals, to beat the Rosemount Irish, 8-1.

Willox got on the scoresheet 13:08 into the first period. He then added goals at 15:22 into the first, at 7:04 into the second, and at 12:32 into the second.

Eagan managed to stay out of the box better than usual, totaling one minor for two minutes in penalty time. The Wildcats wound up below its season average of 7.0 penalty minutes per game. Eagan's offense rang up 62 shots on Rosemount's net. The Wildcats bested their season scoring average. Eagan has scored at the pace of 5.8 goals per game during the current campaign.

Eagan additionally got points from Jesse Gabrielle, who also registered one goal and two assists and Jack Jenson, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Josh Loew also scored for Eagan. Other players who recorded assists for Eagan were Taylor Karel, who had one, Nick Wolff, who had two, and Tommy Muck and Zach Glienke, who contributed three a piece.

The Irish stifled the Wildcats' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Rosemount was held below its usual level of production. The Irish put an average of 3.3 pucks into the net per game. Rosemount did not challenge the opposing netminder, only getting five shots on net to force four saves.

Andrew Lindgren rejected four shots on goal for Eagan. The Wildcats registered zero goals on four power play opportunities. Tom Fraune recorded 54 saves for the Irish. Rosemount incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
