Lakeville South outlasts Rosemount, 3-2Rosemount CC Sat, Jan 19, 2013 In a game where neither team could get a cushion, the Lakeville South Cougars escaped with a 3-2 victory over the Rosemount Irish. No lead was more than one goal during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Cameron Jackson at 13:18 of the third period. Lakeville South was paced by Jackson, who finished with one goal and one assist. The Cougars put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Rosemount to score on any of its four power plays. Lakeville South put 27 shots on net during the contest, more than the 1.5 it averages per game. Lakeville South also got points from Nick Swaney, who also had one goal and one assist. Lakeville South also got a goal from Justin Doeden as well. In addition, Lakeville South received assists from Mack Farley and Drew Byers, who each chipped in one. The Irish were helped by Tyler Frank, who racked up one goal. Frank scored 15:25 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Nick Swanson assisted on the tally. Ryan Foley also scored for Rosemount. More assists for Rosemount came via Lukas Gillett, who had one. The Cougars' Tyler Schumacher stopped 16 shots out of the 18 that he faced. Lakeville South incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Austin Leslie rejected 24 shots on goal for Rosemount. The Irish incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
