Eastview squeaks by Eagan, 4-2

In a game where neither team could get a cushion, the Eastview Lightning escaped with a 4-2 victory over the Eagan Wildcats.

Neither team gained more than a two-goal lead, and Ryan McNamara's goal in the third period proved to be the difference maker.

McNamara had two goals and one assist to lead Eastview. McNamara scored the first of his two goals at 10:56 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Eastview. McNamara's next tally made the score 3-2 Eastview with 19:57 left in the third period.

Eastview additionally got points from Mitch Beattie, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Eastview also got a goal from Jake McGlocklin as well. In addition, Eastview received assists from Nick Abbott, who had one.

Eagan did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Wildcats average 5.5 goals per game. Eagan kept the Lightning's goalie busy throughout the game, and Zachary Driscoll made 64 saves on 66 shots.

The Wildcats were helped by Zach Glienke, who grabbed one goal and one assist. Glienke scored 9:10 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Eagan. Nick Smallidge assisted on the tally. Eagan also got points from Cullen Willox, who also had one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Eagan were Will Peterson, who had one.

Eastview incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Andrew Lindgren made 21 saves for Eagan on 25 shots. The Wildcats incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
