Huge game by Baumann boosts Lakeville South over Lakeville North, 5-1

Weston Baumann was all over the ice for the Lakeville South Cougars, as he tallied two goals and one assist in Lakeville South's 5-1 win over the Lakeville North Panthers.

Baumann's tallies came on the power play at 15:31 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Lakeville South and 9:06 into the third to make the score 3-0 Lakeville South.

Lakeville North was stymied by the Cougars netminder Tyler Schumacher, who stopped 39 shots during the victory. Schumacher certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 4.71 entering the contest.

Lakeville South managed to stay out of the box better than usual, registering one minor for two minutes in penalty time. The Cougars wound up below its season average of 5.0 penalty minutes per game. By firing 25 shots on goal, Lakeville South exceeded the 3.0 shots it averages per game this year.

Ben Freemark also scored for Lakeville South. Other players who recorded assists for Lakeville South were Mack Farley, who had two and Matt Lembeck, Cameron Jackson, and Patrick Daly, who contributed one a piece.

The Panthers did not reach the goal total they have come to expect this season. Lakeville North averages 3.1 goals per game. The Cougars were unable to stop the Panthers from sending pucks towards the net, and Lakeville North eventually piled up 40 shots on goal.

Lakeville South registered one goal on two power play opportunities. Pierce Wilson recorded 20 saves for the Panthers. Lakeville North incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
