Eastview survives Bloomington Kennedy comeback, wins 3-2

The Eastview Lightning survived a determined comeback attempt by the Bloomington Kennedy Eagles on the way to a 3-2 win.

Eastview made the score 3-1 on a goal by Ryan McNamara at 8:21 in the second period, and Bloomington Kennedy got as close as 3-2 when Michael Jost scored 4:30 into the third period.

The Lightning pulled out the victory even though they were hit with 14 penalty minutes.

Eastview's offense rang up 38 shots on the Eagles' net.

Eastview also got points from John Snodgrass, who also racked up one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Cole Cooper also scored for Eastview. More assists for Eastview came via Nick Abbott, Pierce Erickson, Mitch Beattie, and Kevin Wobschall, who contributed one a piece.

Bloomington Kennedy also got a goal from Conor Jensen as well. In addition, Bloomington Kennedy received assists from Brad Hinrichs and Michael McCullen, who each chipped in two.

Zachary Driscoll recorded 26 saves for the Lightning. Eastview registered one goal on five power play opportunities. Bloomington Kennedy's David Johnson stopped 35 shots out of the 38 that he faced. The Eagles totaled 11 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major and went 1-for-6 on the power play.
