Lakeville South completes comeback, beats Prior Lake, 4-3Dakotah Sports and Fitness Sat, Dec 08, 2012 Undaunted by a two-goal deficit, the Lakeville South Cougars battled back to claim a 4-3 victory over the Prior Lake Lakers. Lakeville South let multiple leads slip away before eventually digging out of a two hole to pick up the win. The Cougars took a 1-0 advantage on a goal by Weston Baumann at 8:11 in the first period. Lakeville South found itself down 3-1 after Prior Lake's Gavin Smith put the puck home at 12:38 in the second period. After tying things up at 3-3 on a goal by Patrick Lauderdale at 16:24 in the third, the Cougars got the game-winner from Nick Swaney at 16:59 in the third period. Lakeville South was sparked by Swaney, who grabbed one goal and one assist. The Cougars managed to stay out of the box better than usual, registering one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Lakeville South finished below its season average of 4.0 penalty minutes per game. The Cougars put 28 shots on net during the contest, more than the 7.0 they average per game. Lakeville South bested its season scoring average. The Cougars have scored at the pace of 1.7 goal per game during the current campaign. Lakeville South also got points from Leo Steinmetz, who also had one goal and one assist and Lauderdale, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. More assists for Lakeville South came via Nick Oelrich, Mack Farley, Matt Lembeck, and Cameron Jackson, who contributed one a piece. The Lakers' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Lakeville South power plays. Prior Lake kept Lakeville South's goalie busy throughout the game, and Tyler Schumacher made 28 saves on 31 shots. Ben Keckeisen also scored for Prior Lake. In addition, Prior Lake received assists from Joey Kleven and Blake Busch, who each chipped in one. The Lakers' Jordan Moran stopped 24 shots out of the 28 that he faced. Prior Lake incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
