Coatta nets hat trick, leads Minnetonka to 7-3 win over EaganPagel Activity Center Tue, Dec 04, 2012 A hat trick by Max Coatta was the highlight in Skippers' 7-3 win against the Eagan Wildcats. Coatta's first goal came 12:29 into the second period. He then added goals at 15:36 into the second and at 15:36 into the third.The Minnetonka Skippers put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Eagan to score on any of its five power plays. By firing 26 shots on goal, Minnetonka exceeded the 7.5 shots it averages per game this year. Minnetonka also had goals scored by Thomas Brandabur, who had two and Connor Thie and Justin Bader, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Minnetonka were Jared Ridge, who had three, Tommy Vannelli and Jack Ramsey, who each chipped in one, and Charles Huminski and John Schuldt, who contributed two a piece. The Wildcats were led by Jesse Gabrielle, who had one goal and one assist. Gabrielle scored 9:59 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Minnetonka. Jack Jenson provided the assist. Eagan also got a goal from Max Elsenheimer as well. More assists for Eagan came via Kyle Stebbing, who had one. The Skippers' Paul Ciaccio stopped 25 shots out of the 28 that he faced. Minnetonka totaled 24 minutes in penalty time with two minors and two majors and went 1-for-3 on the power play. Andrew Lindgren made 19 saves for Eagan on 26 shots. The Wildcats incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
