Matthew Koch finished with one point to lead the Hopkins Royals to a 2-1 victory over the Bloomington Kennedy Eagles.

Hopkins kept Bloomington Kennedy's goalie busy throughout the game, and David Johnson made 38 saves on 40 shots.

Hopkins also got a goal from Anthony Degiulio as well. In addition, Hopkins received assists from Ryan Kimbrel, Max Ostenso, Trace Bolstad, and Joshua Laven, who contributed one a piece.

The Eagles were led by David Hinrichs, who scored the team's only goal. Hinrichs scored on the power play 3:24 into the third period to make the score 1-0 Bloomington Kennedy. A holding penalty on Ryan Davis had put Bloomington Kennedy on the power play. Conor Jensen picked up the assist.

Sam Dalton recorded 16 saves for the Royals. Hopkins incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. The Eagles totaled 23 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 1-for-5 on the power play.
