Stillwater falls to White Bear Lake in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

The White Bear Lake Bears' Alex Bocchi scored 7:51 into overtime to beat the Stillwater Ponies, 4-3 (OT).

White Bear Lake was led by Bocchi, who had one goal and one assist.

The Bears put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Stillwater to score on any of its three power plays. By firing 23 shots on goal, White Bear Lake exceeded the 2.3 shots it averages per game this year.

White Bear Lake also got points from Ben Wilke, who also finished with one goal and one assist, Seth King, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, and Jake Wahlin, who also registered one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Other players who recorded assists for White Bear Lake were Jake Dittel and Tommy Giller, who each chipped in one.

The Ponies excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. Stillwater put 20 shots on net during the contest, more than the 0.7 it averages per game.

The Ponies were helped by Jarrid Balz, who grabbed one goal. Balz scored 10:38 into the third period to make the score 3-3. Stillwater also got a goal from Brandon Jungman as well. In addition, Stillwater received assists from Devin Cates and Payton Hosch, who contributed one a piece.

Chase Gorman rejected 17 shots on goal for the Bears. White Bear Lake ended with 21 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major. Colton Anderson made 19 saves for Stillwater on 23 shots. The Ponies incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
