Broadbent, Woodbury blank Stillwater, 4-0

Evan Broadbent was superb between the pipes for the Woodbury Royals, as he did not allow a goal in a 4-0 victory over the Stillwater Ponies.

Woodbury was paced by Jordan Graham, who grabbed one goal and one assist. Graham scored 5:21 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Woodbury. Dan Armstrong provided the assist.

The Royals put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Stillwater to score on any of its three power plays. Woodbury got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game.

Woodbury additionally got points from Armstrong, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Woodbury also got a goal from Sam Gazzola as well. Other players who recorded assists for Woodbury were Ford Pendleton, who had two and Evan Roepke and Ryan Winter, who contributed one a piece.

The Ponies were held below their usual level of production. Stillwater averages 2.9 goals per game. With 48 shots on target during the contest, the Ponies exceeded the 1.3 shot they average per game this year.

The Royals' Broadbent stopped 48 shots out of the 48 that he faced. Woodbury incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Colton Anderson made 21 saves for Stillwater on 25 shots. The Ponies incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
